Birth & Early Life

 – Shivaji Maharaj dreamed of a self-ruled Hindu kingdom.He fought against Mughal and Adilshahi rule to establish Swarajya.

Vision of Swarajya

 – He built and captured over 370 forts across India. – Famous forts: Raigad, Pratapgad, Sinhagad, Rajgad.

The Fort Buildet

 – Defeated Afzal Khan of the Adilshahi Sultanate.Used strategic guerrilla warfare to outsmart larger armies.

Battle of Pratapgad (1659)

 – Captured by Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb.He escaped using a brilliant disguise plan inside fruit baskets.

Escape from Agra (1666)

Crowned as Chhatrapati at Raigad Fort. – Established Hindavi Swarajya (Self-rule).

Coronation as Chhatrapati (1674)

Introduced guerrilla warfare, swift cavalry attacks, and navy expansion. Built a strong navy to protect the Konkan coast.

Shivaji’s Military Strategies

Inspired later freedom fighters like Mahatma Gandhi, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, and Veer Savarkar. Remembered as a symbol of bravery, justice, and governance.
